Free Movie Tickets

Albertsons is running an Axe promo right now where if you buy 4 axe items you get a cat for two free movie tickets. I love these deals because it makes our date nights super cheap. There are coupons in the 5/17 RP for $1/1 and $1.50/1 shower gels so use those to make those items cheaper. Here is what I did.

1st transaction:
3 AXE classic line shower gel = $12
1 AXE skin contact shower gel = $4
Total: $16

Used three $1/1 AXE classic line shower gel coupons
Used one $1.50/1 AXE skin contact shower gel coupon
Used three doublers
Total Cost: $8.50 plus tax and got 4 shower gels and 2 movie tickets (for less than two movie tickets)

2nd Transaction:
3 AXE skin contact shower gel = $12
1 AXE classic line shower gel = $4
Total: $16

Used three $1.50/1 AXE skin contact shower gel coupons
Used one $1/1 AXE classic line shower gel coupon
Paid: $10.50 plus tax and got 4 shower gels and 2 movie tickets (still less than two movie tickets and I didn't have to use doublers)

Also, each time I got a catalina for $2/2 AXE skin contact shower gel.

4+ lbs of red grapes

Albies Deals w/ Doublers

4 Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereals (Brandon's cereal of choice) for $2.50 each
Used two $1/2 IP coupons - doubled them
GM Promo: Buy 4 get $4 off instantly on Bread, Milk & Eggs
Now the $4 comes off instantly but the store decides whether you have to buy those items or not. My store was cool about it and I was able to buy milk and eggs and forgo the bread and since those things came to just over $4 they didn't care. Your store may have a different store policy. I would suggest asking beforehand. I think they appreciate that you are trying to play by their rules and it makes it easier on you so you don't get up to the checkout line and have them tell you that you have to get something different for the promo to work.

2 Gallons of milk for $1.89 each
Used one $.75/1 IP milk coupon - doubled (I love $.49 milk!)
Used one free milk cat from a previous purchase.
Again, the checker can do what they like with this one. The one I got was great and she just scanned the coupon which is good for a free gallon of milk up to $4.50. The checker can adjust the coupon down to the price of one gallon of milk and they usually do. I wouldn't plan on them leaving the coupon at $4.50 off but I got lucky this time and mine did.
Also, some checkers might tell you that you can't use milk coupons at all since technically you are already getting the milk free with the promo. I was lucky that my checker didn't care but had she said that I couldn't use them I would've just saved those coupons for another day.

1 pack of Oscar Meyer Beef Franks for $3.00
Used one free package coupon that I had that expires at the end of the month making them free

1 dozen Eggs and some Bananas

Total: $2.42

1 Gallon of milk for $1.89
Used one $.75/1 IP milk coupon - doubled

4 Breyers pints - they are $1.50 this week but I have a couple rainchecks for the $1 price they had a couple weeks ago.
Used two $1/2 Breyers coupons - doubled making them free

Total: $.23

5 more Breyers pints @ $1 each
Used the $4/5 cat that prints out after you buy 4. I had a couple of these from the last time this promo ran and got 2 new ones today.

Total: $1.15

Now I read on PYP (love that site!) that Albertsons new policy is that they won't let you use a raincheck with a new doubler. I didn't have any trouble doing that today so that might be a YMMV thing.

Grand Total = $3.80 for the day (this would've cost me $46) PLUS I got back another $2 survey at the bottom of one of my receipts which I can spend like cash on my next purchase!

Klondike Bars

FYI - You can do the exact same deal below with the single Klondike Bars that you do with the pint sized Breyers ice cream. They are on sale at Albies right now for $1 and there are $1/2 coupons HERE. See the details below to get some more yummy ice cream treats for almost nothing!

$.21

Here is a great Albies deal this week. Their 1 Pint Breyers are on sale for $1. There are $1/2 coupons in Group A (HERE is a link). You can print this 2 times per computer. Buy four of these, use two $1/2 coupons and two doublers and you will end up with free ice cream. Then because you bought four a $4/5 coupon will print out for Breyers ice cream. Use this on 5 more and you will just pay $1 for all 5. I had a $1 cat left over so I used that and ended up only paying $.06 for the first 4 and $.15 for the next 5.

Also, Smiths has a GREAT price on their New York steak this week. Only $2.99/lb (usually about $8.99/lb). I got 6 family packs of New York steaks for $50, steak that would've cost me $150 normally. The carnivores in my house will be very happy!

Thomas Nelson Book Review - The Noticer

"The Noticer" by Andy Andrews is a WONDERFUL book! I can't say enough good things about this book. This was the first book that I have read by Andrews but I am sure that I will read more. This book is, in a nutshell, about perspective. At the start of the book Andrew meets an old man named Jones who introduces himself as a "Noticer", someone who notices things that often times people over look. He helps Andrews gain perspective on his life at that moment to help him create for himself the future he truly wants. Throughout the book Jones pops in and out of many peoples lives, at the time when they need a little added perspective. He helps a married couple on the verge of divorce learn that they aren’t suffering from a lack of love, just that they need to learn to communicate their love in the “language” that the other speaks. He helps an old lady learn that her life isn’t over just because she is advancing in years. He helps a young man learn to slow down and pay attention to what really matters, the small things. He helps people of all walks of life to gain the proper perspective to overcome the problems they face in their life and create the future they want. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and this is a book that I will definitely read again and again, especially when I need a little dose of perspective.

Another week of Doublers

We love Trail Mix but it is always SO over priced. I was able to get 10 bags of them this morning at Albies (they are part of the Epic promo) and they only cost me $3.14 total. PLUS Albertsons is doing a new thing where sometimes you will get a survey request on the bottom of your receipt. If you call in and do the short survey you get a code for $2 off your next order. I have gotten this once before and got another one today. It's like getting a $2 cat. So that made these just that much cheaper!

Target Deals

There was a cute couple behind me in line at Target today. Of course if they had gotten there before I was already ringing up I would've let them go infront of me since they only had one item. But they were so nice and were having fun watching my total which started out at $65.70 drop lower and lower until I ended up only paying $8.65 for all these items.

They were buying a little slip 'n slide for their son and they were joking that I was walking out with 5 bags and they were walking out with one thing and I paid less then them!
