Deals worth mentioning

I scored a few deals worth mentioning today.

Smiths has select GM cereals on sale for $2.99 each. Buy 4 and get $6 off instantly which makes them $1.49 each. Use $1/2 coupons making each box only $.99. That is pretty okay but the best part is that there are speciality marked boxes which can score you free movie tickets. For each 2 specially marked boxes you get a free movie ticket. So I bought 8 big boxes of Lucky Charms (the only specially marked boxes my store had) for just over $8 and will get FOUR free movie tickets!! That is a pretty sweet deal!!!

Then I went to Target and got the following Olay deals:

Buy 2 Select P&G items get a $5 Target gift card
Buy 2 Olay Refreshing Toners $2.84 each
Pay $5.68
Get back a $5 Target gift card
Final cost only $0.68 for both items (no coupons needed!)

Olay Beauty Bar (Single Bar) $0.97
Used the $1/1 coupon from the 10/31 PG
Final cost FREE!

Olay Body Wash $5.04 AND Secret Travel Size Deodorant $0.97
Total = $6.01
Used the $5/1 Olay Body Wash with Any Secret product coupon from the 10/31 PG
Final cost only $1.01 for both items!

Today's FREEBIES - Target & Walmart

Did you get anything for free today? I made trips to two stores today and got a lot of things for FREE.

At TARGET I got these freebies:

4 - Tide 2x Ultra Travel Size (1 Load) $0.97 each
Used four $1/1 coupon from the 8/1 PG
Final cost FREE!

12 - Band-Aid Brand Adult (8 ct) $0.97 each
Used four $3/3 coupon from the 8/1 SS
Final cost– 3 for FREE!

4 - Clean & Clear 1 oz travel size Morning Burst Cleanser $0.97 each
Used four $1/1 coupon from the 8/1 SS or found here
Final cost FREE!

I know these items are small but think about the 4 loads of laundry that I won't have to pay for, the 96 owies that I have free bandaids for, things like that, you can see that buying these smaller items for free can really pay off. You will find that you will end up with these random item shopping trips but as you stockpile you will find more and more things that you don't need to buy so often.

Then to Walmart ...

These are on sale for $2.99 at Smiths this week but with the P&G promo when you buy four you end up getting them for $1.99 each. Since I was at Walmart I decided to price match this price. YMMV on whether you can price match to the promo price but I usually have had no trouble doing this. I price matched these to the $1.99 price and used four of the $2/1 Gillette coupons from yesterday's (8/1) P&G insert making all of these items free. Actually the one taller one rang up at $1.50 so I ended up making money on that one.

There are more freebies available at Target this week. I only got the ones that I will use. You can check out THIS Hip2Save post for more deals.

Target Deals 11/2

I scored some good deals at Target today.

GE Smart Energy 13 W CFL bulbs on sale for $2.39
Use the $1/1 coupon from the 10/4SS
Plus, use the $2/1 Target coupon from here
Final cost FREE + overage! **Hand over the manufacturer coupon first and the coupons should go through without any beeps.

My checker wouldn't give me the overage but that is okay. I still got 4 packs of lightbulbs for $.11 tax.

Target is running this Glade promo through Christmas. Here is what you do.

Buy 5 Glade holiday candle products (candles, warmers + more) $2.50 each and get back a $5 Target gift card. You can buy as many of these items in a transaction and you will get a $5 gift card for each 5 you buy.

I bought 14 holiday candles and 11 refill packs (make sure they are the Christmas scents so you get the gift card) totalling 25 items. So I got back five $5 gift cards.

I didn't have the $1.50/1 coupons that you can sometimes find in the non-holiday tins but I did have a bunch of $2/2 coupons that I found in previous holiday candles and refill packs that I have bought.
I used seven $2/2 coupons on the candles.
I also had five buy an oil candle holder, get the refill pack FREE coupons from here or from the 11/1SS
And I used three B2G1 free refill coupons from the 11/1SS.

My total was $36.07 OOP and after the $25 back in gift cards these only cost me $11.07.

Target 10/26

I took advantage of a couple of the great Target deals this morning that Hip2Save has posted about. HERE is a link to all her recent Target posts.

I did THIS Keebler Cookies deal. But it didn't work out as good for me as Hip2Save's post. Here is what she said to do:

Keebler cookies (including Chips Deluxe) $2--buy 2, get 1 FREE

Deal Scenario:
Buy 6 packages $2 each=$12
Minus Buy 2, get 1 FREE sale=$8
Use 3
$1/2 Keebler Chips Deluxe Target coupons (make sure you print out the ones that expire on 11/7)
Plus, use 3 $1.50/2 coupon
from here(you may also find $2/2 peelie coupons on the packages)Final cost $0.50 for all 6 packages!
That equals out to just $0.08 per package! Time to stock up on cookies!

Unfortunately today I got one of those checkers who wouldn't let me use more then one of the Target coupons per transaction which I have never had happen to me before. So we had to seperate the cookies out into batches of three (to get the B2G1 deal) which means I was only able to use one $1.50/2 and one $1/1 coupon for each three I bought. I have never had any checker care about that before so I guess today I just wasn't lucky. They still worked out to be $.50 per pack so not too bad but I definitely would've preferred to pay $.08 per pack.

I also did the Glade Candle deal in THIS post. Again, I didn't get as good of a deal as Hip2Save but I still made money.

Here is Hip2Save's scenario:

Buy 5 Glade holiday candle products (candles, warmers + more) $2.50 each and get back a $5 Target gift card. You can also buy up to 10 Glade items in the same transaction and get up to two $5 Target gift cards! This promotion is running through 12/26!

Deal Scenarios:
Buy 5 Glade Scented Oil Candle Christmas Tins $2.50 each=$12.50
Buy 5 Glade 3 pack Scented oil candle refills $2.50 each=$12.50
Use 5 $1.50/1 coupons found inside the tins
Plus, use 5 buy the oil candle tins, get one refill pack FREE coupons
from here or there are also blinkie coupons found at Kmart and various other stores.
Pay $5
Get back a $10 Target gift card
Final cost FREE + a $5 moneymaker!

I was able to find the Glade Holiday Tins on an endcap display. They triggered a $5 gift card. But they didn't have any of the Holiday refills so I just got regular refills and found that they didn't trigger the gift card. So I only got one $5 gift card. It still ended up all being free. And I can submit for the $5 SC Johnson rebate for every 3 Glade products I purchased so this will still be a money maker for me.

Just a couple things to be aware of if you plan to venture into Target this week.

Great Target Deals

Target has the Air Wick Freshmatic Ultra i-Motion Starter Kit on a temporary price cut for $5.99 (usually around $13.99.) But you can get them for free! Use the $6/1 coupon from the 9/13SS to get them FREE!

I had 8 of these coupons that I was waiting to use. So I got 8 of them for free today and only had to pay tax! It was cool when the checker handed me my receipt and said "You saved $111.92 today!"

Hip2Save posted about another great Target deal. (She is the BEST!)

Buy 5 Glade holiday candle/oil warmer products on sale for $2.50 each and get back a $5 Target gift card. You can also buy up to 10 Glade items in the same transaction and get up to two $5 Target gift cards!

Deal Scenario #1
Buy 5 Glade Scented Oil Candle Christmas Tins $2.50 each=$12.50
Use 5 $1.50/1 coupons found inside the tins
Pay $5
Get back a $5 Target gift card
Final cost FREE!

Or

Deal Scenario #2
Buy 5 Glade Scented Oil Candle Christmas Tins $2.50 each=$12.50
Buy 5 Glade 3 pack Scented oil candle refills $2.50 each=$12.50
Use 5 $1.50/1 coupons found inside the tins
Plus, use 5 buy the oil candle tins, get one refill pack FREE coupons from here
Pay $5
Get back a $10 Target gift card
Final cost FREE + a $5 moneymaker!

AND then you can submit for the $5 SC Johson rebate for every 3 Glade products purchased!

I didn't see any of the Christmas Tins at Target today and the tins that they did have didn't have any coupons in them (I really hate it when people take coupons out of items that they aren't buying). So I will have to keep my eyes open for these. :)

Store Specifics - Target

I love Target. I think they are a great place to get great deals. Some people have had trouble with them but I usually don't have any problems. I would print out a copy of the Target Coupon Policy (thanks Hip2Save) and just have it with you incase they give you any problems.

I think there are 2 main problems that you might run into at Target.

1) The coupon is for more then the cost of the item and the coupon beeps. The checker should either just push it through OR adjust down the coupon to the cost of the item. If they tell you that they can't do that you can very politely but firmly tell them that you have a copy of their coorporate coupon policy which clearly states that they can.

2) The checker tells you that they can't accept the coupon for the item that you purchased because it's not specifically pictured on the coupon. The couple times they have tried this on me I politely but firmly tell them that they can't very well display a picture of everyone of that particular brand or line of items on their little coupon. Like with the cheese coupon - it says "$1 off with purchase of two Market Pantry cheese products". They tried to tell me that I couldn't use that on single cheese sticks because the picture was of the pack. But the wording doesn't say anything about it having to be the cheese stick packs. In the end, they rang my items and coupons through just fine and I didn't have to be mean about it, just stood my ground because I knew I was correct.

Target is great because they will often times do promos where you get back a $5 Target gift card with a specific purchase, like for example, "Get a $5 Target Gift Card with the Purchase of 5 Fiber One products. I did this deal and made money on Fiber One cereal. See THIS post for details. I usually have a couple gift cards and so I use those on my next trip in to pay for that trip, get back new gift cards and save them for my next trip in.

Also, you will often times be able to print of Target Store Coupons that you can use on trial size or smaller items making them free or even money makers. See THIS post and you will see I was able to do that with the J&J Soap Buddies bars.

You can check out what Target Coupons are available HERE and the great thing about them is you can print out as many as you like. If there is one that I know I will want to do a few times I usually print out a bunch and then use 5-10 of them on each trip. The coupons can disappear before their expiration date so that is the reason I often times will print out a lot of the ones I know I will want even if I am not going to use them right away.

You can always check out Hip2Save's Target posts for current deals to see if there is anything you are interested in getting. I just cut and paste the details of the deals I want to do into a Word document, print and clip the coupons I need and it makes it really easy when I get to the store.

Target 9/10

Today was my first time to do the new Target price matching thing. I wish that they did it like Walmart does where they just change the price as you are checking out at the register but they do it as a refund at customer service after. It is a little more time but it worked just fine. The lady was wonderful (a real Jedi). It was her first time doing the price adjust as well and at first she wasn't sure if it would work because the receipt showed the Cherrios at $1.69 because of the $1/1 Target coupon. But she was willing to give it a try and the register calculated the adjustment just fine giving me back $.70 plus tax for each box.

Here is what I got today for only $3.38!!

6 BIG boxes of Cheerios - $2.69 each
Used three $1/2 manufacturers coupons
Plus, I used 6 $1/1 Target General Mills Cereal coupons
Then after I checked out I went to the Customer Service desk and they price adjusted to match the $1.99 price from the Walgreens ad from this week. This gave me back $5.04.
Final cost $.49 each!

5 boxes of Fiber One Cereal $2.50 each
Total=$12.50
Used five $0.75/1 coupons from here or here (You'll need to login or register to access the coupon)
Plus, I used 5 $1/1 Target General Mills Cereal coupons
Paid $3.75
Got back a $5 Target gift card
Final cost 5 boxes for FREE + a $1.25 moneymaker!

2 Rimmel Mascara (select varieties) $2.24
Used two $2 coupon from here or from the 8/23RP
Final cost $0.24 each!

18 Market Pantry Single String Cheese $0.40 each
Used nine $1/2 Target coupons from here (the register adjusted these coupons down to $.80/2 so there was no overage.)

Target 9/3 - MONEYMAKER Trip!

I guess you could say I am becoming a bit of a Target junkie. Since afternoon nap time is a thing of the past sometimes it's nice to get out of the house and do something. I ended up at Target this afternoon and got some great deals.

4 boxes of Kellogg's Special K crackers - $2.39 each
Total=$9.56
Used three $1/1 coupons from here
(Coupons.com is only letting you print this once per computer so I was only able to print out 3)Plus I used four $0.50/1 Target coupons
Paid $4.56
Get back a $5 Target gift card
Final cost 4 boxes for FREE + a $.44 moneymaker!

5 Johnson’s Soap Buddies Bars $0.97 each
Used five $1 Target coupons
Final cost FREE!

1 Tide Bounce Dryer Bar $3.74
Used the $2.50 coupon from Vocalpoint
Plus, I used the $1.50 Target coupon from the 8/23RP
Final cost as low as FREE + overage!

1 Glade Scented Oil Candle tin on sale for $1.66 each.
Use the $1.50/1 coupons found inside the tins. (I really wish people wouldn't take coupons out of the items that they aren't going to buy. That is just selfish!)
Plus, I bought an additional refill pack and used the buy a Glade Scented Oil Candle Holder get a refill pack FREE coupon from HERE. (If you don't see the coupon, try zip code 90210. There is also one in the 8/23SS.)
Final cost both for just $.16!

20 Market Pantry Single String Cheese $0.40 each
Used ten $1/2 Target coupon from here
Final cost 20 String Cheeses for FREE
** I got a bit of a Nazi checker and she tried to tell me that I couldn't use this coupon on the single cheese sticks because the picture showed the bagged kind. I politely stood my ground and told her that the coupon said "Any Market Pantry Cheese Product" and that they can't very well picture everyone of their products on the coupon. She realized I wasn't going to give in and took them although she did adjust the coupons down to $.80/2 so there was no overage which is fine. I am off on a tangent here but my sister in Montana went to Target yesterday and there was a lady that had been in before them who threw a fit at the checker because they wanted to adjust down the cheese coupon and wouldn't let her have the overage. Overage is nice and a great bonus but it is there right to adjust the coupon down so don't expect to get the overage and then when you do it's just a nice bonus.

In the end I spent $4.73 OOP ($34.67 in savings) but got back a $5 GiftCard from the Special K crackers so I ended up making money! Yeah ... I love Target!

Target Craziness

So I have found a fool proof way to have your Target checker just push all your coupons through rather then spending forever to inspect each one. Just have a puking baby sitting in your cart and they will push your coupons through and you right out the door. My poor baby! Luckily I was buying my 6 year old his school shoes and the empty shoe box was right there so I was able to catch it all quickly and avoid an even worse mess.

In the end I got all this for $24.39 with a savings of $78.78! That is way cheaper then the diapers would've been just on their own.

No more stores for me today ... just taking care of my sweet little sick baby.

Check out Hip2Save's Target posts HERE to find details on all these deals.

Moneymakers
: Glade Scented Oil Tins and Refills, Gerber Bottles, J&J Soap Buddies, Sponge Bob Toothpaste, Skittles Crazy Cores!
